As a retired Allstate Claim employee, it deeply saddens me to see what the company has become and how you are now being treated. The benefits were very good for our “generation”, the work was fun, and we cared about the customer and the company. With the pension lump sum, company match, and 401K, I was able to retire at age 59 1/2., something most people in any industry couldn’t dream about.
Now it appears the company has slashed benefits and has no desire to reward loyalty, longevity, or good work. Oh, we were lied to as well when in 2015, the company took away the retiree life insurance policy they promised us.
Most folks who leave Allstate end up better paid and happier, so while it might look bleak now, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there...Whether you stay or leave, I wish you the best.

Good luck everyone.
Response to the post, what did you end up doing?
Couldn’t agree more. I “got retired “ in the layoffs of 2017 at the age of 58 after 32 years of service. Turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to me. Still have a lot of friends that are either stuck there or are part of the latest layoffs, not sure who I feel worse for. What was a great place to work turned to an awful place to work. Good luck to all.
