Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Fox Business speculating on sale of CNN

Interesting segment this afternoon from Charlie Gasparino on Fox Business where he was stating there is a lot of banker speculation around a sale of CNN to Bezos (Amazon). At the end of the day though, just his usual schtick where he does not seem to have any concrete information of any kind, just kind of throwing it at the wall. I did think it was interesting how he mentioned that when he tweeted the "story" out, he was deluged by CNN employees asking him for any inside information and expressing their extreme desire for this to be true. Not my part of the business but I can imagine the extreme culture shock these CNN folks have experienced over the last couple years.

I believe the whole movement from cable/Sat to streaming is cyclical. Think of it as major stock market correction where it hit's bottom then bounces and skyrockets!

Why you ask? Because, I've tried all the streaming products and none compare to a traditional cable/Satellite service. Maybe I'm just set in my ways?

Or, more likely, once AT&T sells, DTV will skyrocket to all time highs!

That's the way we do it! Buy high and sell low!

CNN should be disbanded, not sold. They're already down to a skeleton crew keeping that ship afloat. CNN is done.

CNN needs a total revamp of it's on air entertainers....They are B class at best. Who is picking the talent there or lack thereof?

If it's on Fox, take it with a grain of salt, maybe even a whole box.

Easy now,I am a Directv tech and and I don’t think any business that still makes billions of dollars a year is worthless dust ! Whether it is Time Warner or Wireless mobility! I understand that you have your opinion but that’s far from the truth,Unless you can come up with the technology for everyone can just be telepathic with their own brain and not need a cellphone, or tv ,or a tablet!Be patient because it always come back around and I am just glad that I don’t work six days a week!

"Bezos isn't in the business of bailing out the competition..."

Are you suggesting that T is somehow "competing" with Amazon? Hardly.

It's not a crazy idea, as dominant as Amazon is, it would allow them to expand their media footprint... (CNN would make a nice compliment to the Washington Post, no?).

I've never understood why RS and JS just had to buy WM and CNN, and just like DTV, everything they bought and were warned it was a terrible business move, they buy it, and then they al suffer the kiss of death and turn into worthless dust.

Bezos isn't in the business of bailing out the competition, unless some other egotistic executive who shall remain nameless.

Bezos is the business of crushing the competition.

Seems like you would take that with a grain of salt. It’s a Fox dream list.
