Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So will we ever know ...

Who was the decision executive and DRB members when we bought ATLAS?

Did they get a 2-? Maybe not eh?

We will all go, the difference is o. How much in the pocket when leaving, at best you get 1 year of salary leaving the company, they leave with a tru k load of money in the tens of millions!

Interestingly they get a lot of shares and also ruine the company so the impact is on the working bees, so yes they leave but their destruction impact lasts years after and they took folks like you and me with them few years later for their bad decisions! Happy times for them only.

GK and Mayers were gone after the ABU 20 billions fiasco. Just give it time, Jay and MW will be gone as well. Is how it works and it takes time.

Good acquisition that was poorly managed. Atlas had only drilled a few horizontal wells before the deal closed. Expertise was lacking day one.

The 10 billion cost overrun for TCO happened under MW and JJ, so do not forget that! They are the same, zero accountability. They talk about this new structure, but you need leaders with innovative ideas, with bold and orthodox decisions to change the company, no real change comes from cosmetic org charge, the direction should be different, focus on added value, focus on innovative and combined technologies, really trying g to reduce production costs with cutting g edge technology and I integration of electrical and renewable as global energy company,Maybe merge with solar and wind super companies to be truly integrated.

@hon I agree with your observations with respect to GK and JW. These two left Us a mess. MW, on the other hand, is trying to clean up their mess. Recall that he successfully turned around Downstream when many were calling for it to be donated to Green Peace. He is now doing to the mother ship what he did to Downstream. It is going to be painful in the short-term, but it will be better for the long-term success of the company, which will benefit its employees and shareholders.

Those guys are never held accountable, instead are cherished and glorified, there is GK day in Houston. Same attention was given to JW with his disastrous Gorgan adventure, and he got 100 million upon exiting Chevron 3 years earlier than planned. Same will be for MW, JJ, and GG. All will be richer by making horrible decisions.

What a legacy GK left us. His successor was cut from the same cloth as the DE for equally catastrophic projects.

GK I would think. He lost CVX 20-30 billion single handed LT.
