Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Blood bath

Early on the word was that merch and departments supporting the accounts would get the biggest hits. But now it is very clear those are just pieces of the puzzle. If I had known Nike direct was hit like this I would have planned differently. Too late now.

Layoffs seem pretty widespread. Seeing some job roles in Digital, for example, where there's reshuffling but basically everyone is still around, vs. other role types where they are slashing and burning.

My heart goes out to the poor folks who will be looking for new jobs. It's a tough market out there, though at least the severence isn't terrible (compared to other companies)

There's been a few exits that show me it’s a numbers game, and they are just hitting and missing with poor aim—going to lose some good talent with that approach. Oh well I didn’t expect much from these goons.

COE and PCC teams are being hit hard too. They just went through the director level. Direct reports supposedly will chat later this week.

It’s not just your org... it’s a blood bath for so many teams. This is way more than expected

Does that include Nike digital? I know there are teams where VP contacted each team member discussing team updates (not layoff conversation).
