"a profit maximization machine" = Amazon. Bezos will harvest us for another 20 years

Creativity by Committee is ineffective. The problem is that iBM is no longer a tech company but rather a profit maximization machine. And it is too big and bureaucratic. And the IBM executives aren't very good.
"According to Donofrio, IBM employees have contributed close to 5,000 ideas to date, and about 100 of those are being evaluated. The ideas cover products, processes and services."

Nonsense, of course. Where I will agree is that I think there are vastly fewer researchers working on ground-breaking technology – at least in Computer Science.

But that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
