Being moved into my 3rd choice and into a new role with very few, if any details. Wondering what the thought process was in the room.

OP, why don’t you STFU and be happy you got anything? You do realize a lot of people did not get a job? Now I can see why you were retained-d-mb and clueless like the leaders of the company.

If you posted for the job, i don't quite understand you questioning the thought process. From their perspective, they gave you one of the jobs you asked for. shrug
Third choice? It didn’t matter if you put that job as No 1 or No 4. Your own ranking didn’t matter. Get over yourself.
Maybe they see potential in you and want you to grow in a new role.....it’s not always shady. Be thankful.
Me too. Some results dont pass the sniff test.
