Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I STILL love it

S band here and I was recently let go. All I want to say is that this company has given me knowledge and experiences that I will always be grateful for. I know many feel this company has done terrible things in regards to employees and many are validated. I however, I wish nothing but all the best to the company and those who still remain - especially during these troubling times.

You can love Nike, Nike will never love you back like that. It is transactional, a relationship that will end in some kind of way. It’s good to be grateful for the good you experienced, hard to watch this pattern of complete rot in so called leadership - visited on those who have poured blood, sweat and tears to the massive success of the company. There’s so many who have given their heart and soul to the company and received the axe, hard to grin and bear through it. WTF did they do to you?!? If you had S-band exposure to leadership and you still feel like they did a great job, then you should’ve been let go. You know you don’t have to play the Nike games anymore, right? Be real...

Many Nike employees perform above band. Many below. I suspect many here performed above band for years and this is the source of their frustration - giving and giving and never rewarded for all that they gave.

I suspect the OP performed at or below their band, and for that reason has satisfaction.

I was laid off in 2017 after 20+ years and this company can stick it where the sun doesn't shine!
