Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Involuntary program and PIP

It’s a little confusing. It says “ the Following groups of employees will not be considered eligible for this program: employees currently on an active Performance Improvement Plan”
So if we passed the PIP, are we still considered under the PIP program and not eligible for the involuntary layoff? Or if we passed we are not on PIP anymore and therefore eligible?

Thanks y’all! And good luck!

If you are not on an active pip program in Dec, you are eligible.

On the HR site is a faq last section talked about the MLRP

If you are retirement eligible you need to pass by on or before 15 Nov to take the voluntary program

Anyone how passes the PIP prior to 30 Nov is eligible for the involuntary program.

One benefit of involuntary is the option for the pension lump sum and next years vacation payment. Since you will be notified by 15 Dec and last date on payroll is 15 Feb and then severance plus vacation payout

What if I am scheduled to pass my PIP on Nov 3rd? Am I not eligible for lay-off benefits?

If you passed the PIP now, you’ll be gone by next April .... involuntary lay-off, no 4-month PIL. You’ve bought yourself some time and your 2021 vacation entitlement, but was it worth the hell that is PIP ?
