Do the numbers add up?

14000 target by 2022

  • 1900 in US
  • 1600 in Europe
  • 150 in Australia

We're still roughly 10k short. I doubt we already released 10k in contractors & NSI yet.

Also if XOM is growing in GBCs, HC would have to decline at other sites to compensate, right?

Am I missing something? Seems like there would have to be another round to meet the 14k target.

I was puzzled by the numbers - Liam said they target a 15% worldwide reduction by 2022 from 2019 numbers. In Houston with reduced hiring and the cuts already done I would think that is taken care of, these additional cuts might get Houston a total reduction more like 25%.

EM has 3% per year retirement...That is 2000 per year. In five years that is 10000. 5% per year of pip and Asset sales. EM will be at 60000 by 2023, from 75000 in 2019.

They are throwing numbers like a politician so read carefully. The 15% cut (14000) is based on 2019 numbers when headcount was 78k. So the 15% cut INCLUDES the contractors and employees released over the past 22 months (remember the PIL/PIP program?). So with employees now sitting at 71,000, we have already finished 50% of cuts.
Then 1600 UK, 1900 USA, 160 Aus - covers half of remaining.
We have not heard from Middle East, Africa or Canada yet.

They've released so many contractors already, it's quite remarkable. Total employee reduction will be 7K.

People leaving on their own for other jobs, people retiringOver the next 2 years, and reduced or hiring freeze. Not sure if over 2 years that’s 5-10% of the workforce.
What is the NSI number that left?
