28 years for me, worn many hats for this company- never went on salary (for good reason- offered to me several times) that is the secret to long term- 40 hours & m-f days!! I'm still happy and will retire on my terms!! I am willing to do whatever job needs to be done and have been respected and valued- THANK YOU SAM'S/ WALMART SUPERCENTER!! It is what you make it, we are all there under FREE WILL, if unhappy you can & should go find your happiness!! PEACE & STAY SAFE IN THESE CRITICAL TIMES!!!😎✌

The company will roll on without you. No harm no foul. I meet long term associates who are thankful and I meet some that say the place has gone down hill. One thing is for sure, everyone is replaceable and if you have that attitude, it’s probably going to be easy!

I just found out today another associate walked out after 30 years, I worked with her for 14 years of my 25 years. I was so happy for her she had been talking about it for so long ,I beat her to it by a year ,she was more aware of what was going on and how to do things than any of the managers, what a huge lost for them !!! Now the rest of the old timers in that club need to quite also , leave the work for the self centered kids that have huge attitudes chips on there shoulders that think they can't and won't be told what to do. Good Luck With that Thanksgiving & Christmas are going to be a wake up call.

Yes I left. Since I left my blood pressure went down,I sleep better, and have more energy. So glad I left. I only wish I left sooner.

I went out with a bang. Quit on the day of inventory which also doubled as father's day. What even made it greater was that the gm was fired that day also. Awesome day after 20 years of hard work and about 7 years of hell.

I keep seeing posts of Sam's getting rid of long term associates because of the money they make per hour. I have been at Sam's for 26 years and don't make much more then the new hires do now. The new hires with their " the world owes me" attitude are no caring, lazy, selfish, mouthy and rude are the future of Sam's. What a bleak future it is.

Anyone except GM's and their favorite team leads🤣, that have been at Sam's or Walmart for more than 15 or 20 years will start being treated terribly, in hopes of them quitting, so they don't have to pay you unemployment and they can pay someone 1/3 of what the long term associates made. It's the way of that company. Age and race discrimination are both issues there, as well.

I left that place after 27 years also. The first 15 to 18 years were much better. If you've been there that long you were probably a recipient of better annual raises as well as merit raises. You had value and were appreciated. Then some crazies stepped in to change things and pretty much threaten your job and measley 2 % raises given whether deserved or not. Then as if that wasn't bad enough, these so called team leads and assistant managers, most of which don't know sh** from shinola, started changing people's hours and days off and started their nonsense with "it's for the needs of the business". After this frenzy buying is over Sam's will be lucky to have the business. I feel sorry for anyone feeling like there us not life after Sam's...there is and its wonderful!

Yeah I did after 25 years, my area manager that I had worked with the entire time I worked for Sams started being a jerk when he talked to me, because he was mad that I got Sundays off after working weekends always. He asked me if I would change my day off I told him no he got p-ss-d off acting like a spoiled baby would bark out orders at me when the club was open ,just so rude. So he called me up front one morning started in again ,told him I quit & got my stuff and walked out. As I was walking out he told me I had 72 hours to pick my check up, well I came in 5 weeks later made sure that a– wasn't there, he retired a few months after words. I was going to go back in the bakery and work 2 days a week but just couldn't stomach the thought of working there anymore, so I retired couldn't be happier!!!
