Stop Complaining

If I were XOM I would fire you all! 1) You asked EM to work for them, not the other way around (you submitted resume-they did not knock on your door asking you and there were other 100 applicants). They did not force you join. 2) You signed the agreement which says that you can leave anytime and that they can let you go any time for no reason, etc. 3) You are getting paid. 4) Many people without jobs would love to have your job, and many are better and cheaper than you. 5) You can quit anytime you want if XOM is such a miserable place. I know I will get comments now saying how I am chosen by XOM, or a manager, or brainwashed, or...

S. This forum should be used to share some insights, opinions, help each other thru this difficult time, help people find jobs one who lost it, not to complain how terrible your work is-just leave.

@OP+17IVVSr6 - YES!!!! My gosh these comments are ridiculous!!! If this is how you behave in hard times, you deserve to go!

I was quite literally hounded and offered a huge pay increase and a slew of promises while I was at my previous job prior to XOM.. One of those promises was that I would not be subject to rank for the first two years of my employment.. That particular DH ended up rotating into another role only 6 months into my decision to leave my old company job for XOM. Needless to say, none of those promises aside from my salary were ever fulfilled. I was NSI'd earlier this year because it was obvious that I would never drink the kool aid.. This all happened after being recognized by senior executive for a high profile task and winning a responsible care award for a project I completed.. There was nothing but praise thrown at me, no indications what so ever that I was performing poorly. I don't see how anyone can't agree that this was all very dishonest.

The only survivor from the Alamo was a dish-washer.
He was the only reliable source for how it all went down.

OP - you are that survivor.

Whatever problems you have, I'm going to do something similar.

Didn't sleep well last night? Boo hoo, get to work

Feeling sick? You can leave any time

Massive debt? No one forced you to get in debt!

etc etc

We have every right to complain as you have every right to tell us to stop complaining....its a beautiful thing. I love the relative ranking approach you mentioned about having a job (there are people without a job that would want your job)....oh so working for ExxonMobil is very good compared to working nowhere, sweet. Lets just ignore the absolute fact that working there can s— really hard but i guess it is better than being employed in the seventh circle of hell so I guess I will stop typing now...NOT! Going with the flawless relative ranking system, ExxonMobil is NSI compared to a lot of other places to work. Hopefully that makes sense now that I am speaking in your language. I will complain and gladly continue to receive a paycheck (walk and chew gum at the same time)

@OP – Have you considered that we like our coworkers and actually want to see the company succeed? Maybe our frustrations are because our suggestions aren't being heard by the management?
