Big push in my division to send work to BTC (Bangladesh). Managers are being “graded” on this. Lots of PIP’d people had their work transferred there. Is this the real EM goal?

Is it Bangladesh or Budapest? Both not as good as Bulgaria.
Time is already showing they will get what they pay for.
I have many colleagues in Spring who love the expat gravy train. Dispicable greed throughout the upstream organization.
Apparently management is targeting that 50% of Global Projects work will be done out of the BTC within 5 years. They’re already sending Indian Expats to Guyana to save money...
OP: Learn some fifth grade geography. India is not Bangladesh. Bangalore/Bangaluru is a city in Karnataka India.
Some work, especially IT, used to be sent to Curitiba, south Brasil.
Major manager points for those transitions.
But rising wages and employment laws not paying off now.
so Bengalaru for awhile.
It's all Antarctica from there on down.
Always has been, the issue is they keep then hiring people in the US to cover for the inadequacies
The latest spin is “resourcing evolution”
Someone explained it to me as Offshoring and Insourcing. I had hard time getting what I wanted. Seems they have a set expectation output. Seems like going to a restaurant, you can order how you want the burger but get what you get.
Has anyone had reliably quality work come out of the BTC the first time? When talking to them they are upbeat and seem motivated but can’t trust the work product and have to add in time for reviews and recycle before willing to present to team lead or management.
Thanks for the correction.
*not in or close to Bangladesh
BTC is Bengaluru (also known as Bangalore) in southern India. The city is in (or even geographically close to) the country of Bangladesh. But Yes, mgmt is graded on how many jobs they can send to BTC.
Yes. Workforce arbitrage has been happening for years.
