Anyone have any inside scoop if Ford met the 1,400 VIP target?

IDK most of Ford IT has nothing to do with laptop software and controls.
I do know that every IT org I am familiar with is mismanaged and bloated and could take a 20-40% trim. Some departments there are 10% worker bee contributors, others 80% worker bee contributors. It is a mix at the worker bee level.
Universally at the management level there could be a 50+% trim with no downside. Let’s be honest, if the IT org was well managed and didn’t create needless processes what exactly would the purpose of the LL5 and LL4 be? And if the teams of worker bees were appropriately sized, what would half of the LL6 have to do?

I'd imagine they don't want to irritate IT much, since that's their first line of defense from people just walking away with company laptops and their contents during WFH.

IT was exempt from the offer. I imagine the company would have more than made the target if they would have included us. The only happy people are the bureaucrats.

Wow if 290 is the number that is a bucket of not good.

None took in our area. The sentiment is that the involuntary package is equivalent or better so everyone rolling the dice and sitting tight. After all it is an easy gig. One coworker said working at Ford was just like being retired and as a bonus you get paid.

I heard one group got 20 more than expected. Got to remember, a lot of people were hired in 89/90. The next big wave was in 99/00. So there are a bunch of people with 30 or more years.

I know that 5 people out of our group took the buyout. Only 1395 more to go!
Personally, I think they will let things settle out next year and begin cuts again in 2022.

I just keep hearing the 1400 will be small potatoes compared to involuntarys in 2021.

2021 ain't going to be pretty.
