I always thought the "check ins" were just a way for HR to find people that don't have work to do. I'd fire 10% of everyone that watches the "check in" in real time.

While the check-in's are not mandatory, they're not much different than the "all-hands" or Cisco "Beat" sessions that were mandatory and highly recommended respectively.

You can't fire people for attending meetings that are encouraged to be attended. If you're going to try to fire people who watch the Check-In's during business hours instead of working, then they need to not be held/streamed live, but be prerecorded and posted for later viewing, but that makes it difficult to ask questions live or allow people to make comments that are blatantly s—ing up to management.

Personally, I'd fire everyone that is streaming music or sports over the internal network while working. I can see listening to music in the background not interfering with working, but it's wasting network resources. Watching sporting events (basketball, football, Nascar, etc.) definitely reduces productivity when big plays or a crash occurs.

I can't get a single monitor from my management yet there are (were) people in the building near me who had 3 monitors where the third one was streaming some sports event full screen almost 100% of the time when they were at their desks.

I cashed my Cisco Check and found another employee. True happiness is getting paid two years for only working one year.

@2ixs+17K7aOoi with that logic, can we fire people who waste time complaining on here?

ELT missed the constant attention and flood of dopamine of everyone kissing their a– in person so they took it to the internet. They're the tech version of an Instagram thot.
