Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What are Wells Fargo Levels?

Hello All - What are Wells Fargo levels or bands? Please see if you can list and explain what levels you have.

In full discolsure, I work for a competitor (BofA) and we have different bands.

Here is bands information what we have listed on BofA's board here:

Hello All - I am the Original Poster - thank you all for taking time to clarify this to me. It seems that it'd be hard to compare as we are organizationally different but I am aware of the role hierarchy now. Thanks again...

I worked at BofA, 10 years and now Wells, 5 years.

I was a B4 SVP at BofA, hired into Wells, with more pay, as a Officer with no way of knowing/guessing how someone stacked up against me. Recent upgrade of job mapping makes it a bit better, fewer job titles. I’m now suddenly a VP and have a better view of peers based on their job titles. There is no similarity to officer titles vs. BofA. SVP at Wells is more of a certain B3 at BofA, below that, its a c-ap shoot. Executive titles at Wells could also be B3 at BofA. At BofA an evolving manager was a B5 on the way to B4. Not sure at Wells, but we just implemented manager vs. engineer titles. Which helps clarify things.

We do not have a band structure like that- it’s by job families and then has ranged in those families based on level and title.

Would be easier for us to help you if you had a more specific question on a roles pay range.

For example in risk- you could be an analyst, associate, sr associate, officer, sr officer, manager, sr manager, director and sr director.
Ranging from a 5% bonus to 50%,

There is very little similarity. Bands at Bank of America encompass huge ranges in pay and have nothing to do with job type.

WF has job families, job codes and ranks within job codes. Each rank within job code has a variable for location, I think it’s 4 total for location. Then bonus eligible job codes have a target incentive by rank

Example

Project Management (ChangeDelivery)

Project Coordinator 1-3
Project Manager 1-3
Project Management Manager 1-3

That’s 36 pay ranges for this job family. Also, unless you are the persons manager or HR you never know someone’s rank because the numbers aren’t published in the directory. The upside is that WF publishes pay ranges.

I think they are very similar. WF has job families and ranges for geographical areas can differ. I think that overall, it is similar. And I would be an example of falling into one of the ranges by 1k. Which makes me 'higher paid' but as a result not eligible for many benefits reserved for the lower pay. thanks for this thread it is an eye opener.

Depends on the Job Title and which Area you live in because Wells likes to localize salaries for the same job depending on where you live.
