2020 Vision?

Someone once said of New York...
The best thing I remember about New York is seeing it in my rear view mirror.

Is this company going forward or looking backward?

vision, I don't think we have vision, even put the big glass on, we still can not tell where stair is.. this is exemplified by last few years consistent changing vague visions:

a) SDN software defined networking, don't know what it is still today for most of my managers/directors
b) cloud to physical then switch around to cloud ..
c) mutliple times of insourcing/smartsourcing/outsourcing/rebalance.
d) 5G now is the hotword and attach to it..

we finally run out of English words to call it and now called workforce adjustment.

we will just use this pandemic as a way of not doing anything, at least that is my goal at least.. fill my calendar and drag on .

I figured that no one tries to find this out due to they themselves has no idea what they are talking about in meetings.

ELT getting their fill off the Cisco carcass before moving on. That is what Cisco means to them.

I'd have to disagree. Laying off full-time employees and outsourcing jobs to developing countries is great for executive compensation. Lets continue to quietly lay off full-time employees and replace them with contractors. Why pay people health insurance & retirement benefits?

In January, we can quietly eliminate another 50 roles. Replace the employees with submissive contractors, and a few SVPs will be able to get a 4th house in Hawaii.

Death spiral. Look at all of the other companies similar. Once a company looks at layoffs as a form of raising stock price, the company is done.

The Titanic was going forward when it hit that iceberg.
