Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stock Price

We really need to get the stock price up to the high $30’s, at least. We all have a strong financial interest in this. Just remember, the company match portion of your 401K is awarded in the form of T stock shares.

yes - and the second I get my match I move it somewhere else

the stock is at 28.44 right now - what is it that the top deck that gets paid 100 million a year is doing?

Stock price will remain flat as long as they continue to ignore the main competency of the company. All the TV content c-ap has deferred them from becoming the best damn internet provider. The continue to ignore making that side of the business attractive for customers.

Forget about T hitting $30 or above a share with the leaders that are in place! The reason T stock has not went down to $8 a share is because of the dividends. The company owes more than what it is worth. I worked for T and I know that all numbers are exaggerated to not show their true revenue loss & customer loss. But I believe most investors are realizing that the dividends can't stop shares from dropping. I sold all my shares over a year ago and luckily I did or else it would have taken me over 10 years of dividends to make up for the losses at today's share price. I waited to long to sell all my T shares but I did when I left T. But I regretted being a stupid loyal T employee standing behind my company and not transferring all my T shares into SP index fund every month as mentioned in another post.

Keep dreaming! Be happy if it stays at $27/share. Even with 7% dividends annually, T is not attractive to investors anymore. WATCH what happens after a dividend payment. The stock tanks.

" Just remember, the company match portion of your 401K is awarded in the form of T stock shares "

Which you can immediately sell out of and place into another fund of your choosing.

Easy enough to swap them out of the T shares though. I usually log in to Fidelity once a month or so and transfer AT&T into SP index fund (large cap)
