DSD service is built into the cost of the product. Crazy to think that people would believe ordering, merchandising, delivery, etc would be free! The average cost of a SR (salary, car, insurance, PTO) is over $50,000 per head. New reps make far less and seasoned reps make much more so this is a median. Imagine if that cost was gone? Well, you won't have to imagine much longer. DSD is a dinosaur and will be eliminated to increase profit margins where retailers have lost margins due to retail advancements that have occurred over the last 50 years!
Wake up people.

going from 3 to 1 is way over due. why have 3 areas and paying out the fat when you can streamline 1. Again DSD is not going anywhere, however over time it will change to a merchandising model. The crying on here about DSD going away is more centered around the selling piece going away. The customers like DSD companies utilizing their logistics costs and hands on product.. free labor

hey cheerleader, it only takes a store maybe an hour to stock our product, they stock keebler and private label also. No salesreps, no merchandisers, no truck drivers to deliver no warehouse to pick the order. sales will be up due to promotions on product.
more money, more sales, less cost
shareholders really happy.
shareholders dont care who is stacking crackers.

I doubt that we're going to leave DSD anytime soon.
Stores don't have time to stock our products.
Sales are up.
Shareholders are happy!
It's all about the shareholders!
No layoffs at Mondelez international

What is going on in New England????

Its Due to NJ's high taxes and really bad business climate. They treat companies like piggy banks then wonder why they leave.
Unless horse teeth and Mr. "Lower taxes, Jersey values" buy them off with a payoff - at taxpayers expense they will leave and the payoff will buy you a few more years.

The only “committed” people are those that have their heads up their butts and think their job is safe! Zero chance of that! Some people are gonna look really dumb, really soon! 😂

No job is "safe" in this pandemic.

I just saw it was gonna be a East and west region. And lot of new faces starting January 1st. Committed to DSD was literally the first sentence of the announcement. More fake news. Safe for 2021 I’d say.

Who is "we"? You and yourself? Not the retailers! They get to decide, not you!

Eventually all field personnel will be either moved to other departments to retain them, or they are eliminated.

Not the start.....the end! Start of exit from DSD began years ago! Unimaginable to think some employees really didn't see this coming.
