Time to go on strike in Europe. Let’s hurt IBM where they are most interesting in. They hate negative publicity and a strike is hurting revenue and profit.
Does anyone know the workforce numbers for IBM Europe? A previous poster said approx 1/2 of IBM will remain, with the other 25%’s going to Newco and redundancy
After this round of cut, it will be truly the "india business machines". Remember AK had a video chat with Modi a few months ago, guess he was telling him the news. Many years ago Palmisano went to India to shake hands with then PM. Afterwards the ibm india payroll ballooned to over 100k.
More info just came in, lion share of the 2.3 billion budget is for Europe. According to EWC a massive and historic workforce rebalancing action across Europe. Most felt by BeNeLux, DACH, followed by Nordics and UKI. Practically all European countries will be confronted with double digit declines.

Last thursday November 5, a sudden, all hands 10 minut call was scheduled and held for IBM BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). In this call it was announced IBM BeNeLux will face a restructuring effort, which most likely will include workforce rebalancing, due to NewCo and Covid-19. This workforce rebalancing will happen early 2021, and has kicked off by IBM by formally talking to the nations worker councils. Since we've had a couple of smaller round in 2019, this pre-announced reorganization effort seems to be large in scale. No details could be shared due to confidentially agreements.
More layoffs anticipated in GBS UKI, just got the announcement.

So it sure looks like IBM europe numbers move to 25% layoffs, 25% move to Newco, and 50% remain in IBM
Belgium as well. Announced today in a all employee meeting.
Something similar in Netherlands as well. Don't know the exact numbers though. Today there was NL all employee meetings.
