Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Dress Code

Our store has taken a harder stance on the dress code. Banning even simple patterns. The one inconsistency has been that our leadership doesn’t keep uniform equipment on hand, ie: aprons, hats, etc. and they don’t plan to stock up on any of these. Team members have to buy their own aprons and hats.

Has anyone else run into this? This is a store in the Southern Pacific.

You are not an individual everything is dictated by global. You follow your program in your department you wear what they tell you to wear its simple. Stores had some individuality with sign making when it existed but everything is sent down from the marketing teams. You may as well get with the program your happiness and comfort are of no concern to global leadership. There will continue to be a steady decline don't expect anything to get better.

This is what happens when a handful of TMs can't just come to work and leave their politics at the door. Nothing against BLM or veterans but give me a break. Most TMs would have a super meltdown if someone showed up in wearing anything that opposes their political and social justice thoughts. So with that thank you Cambridge TMs...everyone had to give up their remaining bits of individuality because you couldn't go 4 - 8 hours of your day without trying to make a statement in your echo chamber of a store.

We run out of hats and aprons about once a month. It's been like this forever. If the STL could just do this one thing correctly, it would be far less embarrassing to onboard new team members. Here...have a used apron and dirty hat. Welcome to whole foods.

In NA we still have TMs with flags, tye dye patterns, gators. TLs not wearing masks in the back halls and offices. Never had a manned temp station. TL and half the staff think covid is a conspiracy.

I've noticed that not everyone is wearing face maks properly. And yet leadership doesn't do anything about it. This is in the Florida region.

The creep who runs my store is so concerned with his bonus that he has tried to charge team members for a second set of these items.

I see dress code violations daily, including ones regarding busy patterns, but I expect that to stop soon, as store micro management wouldn't know what to do if it didn't have myopic, pointless rules to enforce.

The day the new dress code went into effect, the place felt like a soulless, gray factory.
