Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Club is extremely crowded and no one cares about the 6ft.

Dear CEO. Your clubs are extremely crowded. The members are going crazy for beer, toilet paper, paper towels and wipes. Please protect your employees and limit the amount of people that can go in at once. The lines are ridiculous and members have to wait of an hour to check out. My club is getting positive cases almost everyday. Please do so thing about it and help save lives my limiting the amount of members!!!!!

I have found that by washing your face and hands and not touching you face while on the floor you'll be fine. We are already forced to wear a cheap mask that has been proven to be useless. The science has proven these masks are near useless anyway. Distancing is the only real way to help stop the spread. Keep your distance no matter what a member or your manager says. Wash wash and wash. Repeat.

In my club the membership representative/ acting manager, doesn’t let cashiers talk each other, because of social distancing lol/ she hates to see the cashiers talking, because no one likes her.. reason she’s harassing everyone /.... but is fine for her to send cashiers ask for credits no social distancing from cashiers to members... Social distancing what’s that, for Sam’s associates?

My manager wants us to stand in the middle of the crowd and direct traffic at the registers/self check. When it comes to associates, there is no such thing as a six foot rule.

And everything, that is less than twenty-five pounds, is taken out of the cart and put on the belt. Even if there are only three things in the cart. Ridiculous. Talk about passing around germs. Handle the groceries, the money, blood leaking from the meat packages, and right on to the next cart. No time to clean the belt or hands. Whatever. Members don't want to use self check or scan n go, that's their fault.

I know many associates abused the system of no-points-for-call-offs, but I think it was a good system. Now workers are coming in sick and spreading it around. If their doctor said it wasn't covid, they come in to work. Some sickies won't even get tested and lie on the questions. They take meds to keep their fevers down. And right on to work, because they don't have ppto and don't want to chance getting points. I can see why, one point a day, five points total, and you're fired. Po-lease. Takes at least a week to battle some infections.

Bottom line, this company doesn't care about the worker, or the member. They only care about the member's money. But we all knew that, didn't we? Protect yourself.

The company left the door open for us to still only allow a certain amount of people in by keeping thay counting app active. Its now up to the managers at the stores as to whether or not they do it. I know my club hasnt used it but said they are this weekend for the sale.

Well it wasn't that long ago. We were required to wear masks to protect members exactly 3 MONTHS before members were required (sorry, SUGGESTED) to wear masks to protect us. Pay attention this time, you may pick up on a pattern. You have protect yourself, whatever that looks like. No one else will be doing it for you. The best laid (or communicated as such) plans have 0% to do with execution/reality. These iterated plans to protect you will take secondary priority 100% of the time to members wishes. I can't believe there is anyone that is not used to it.
