200+ in Tech will be laid off in the first weeks of January. Tech workers are being used to get through the holidays and then their jobs are slated to be outsourced to India and Poland. You know, Poland, where the government functions COMPLETELY OPPOSITE to Nike's values of inclusion and acceptance. ("LGBT FREE" cities, anyone?) Nike is a machine and hypocrisy reigns.

Hope JB is on the block this time
@3qom we know for fact that they are waiting until Jan 2021 to finish the CDA reorg process for Global Tech while the rest of the company is finished. So there will be some people laid off in Global Tech in Jan...numbers are hard to estimate but the Oregon Warn notice was extended to Jan and a better estimated number of total oregon layoffs. We just don't know how many of those are Global Tech.
Then if you look at all the new nike job postings for India and poland you can see we are going to grow those location headcounts by large numbers.....what we don't know is if most of those numbers are growth or taking away from beaverton.
what we do know is it looks like nike will no longer be investing in tech in beaverton and perhaps just stay status quo.
@3qom, f— off...we know this is true.
Do you have a source/proof for your claim that they are going to start offshoring tech?
It's funny, every time I post about insourcing, outsourcing or H-1B, my posts get deleted. Unsure why this post didn't get deleted too.
I'll tell you guys... nothing s—s more than training a "flexible worker" to do your job, then getting laid off. 18 years and 3 patents later... don't the door hit you in a– on your way out. It is absolutely disgusting.
Stock GREED! I'm really sorry what Nike has become. It used to be wonderful.
@1xfo, amen. Too many of them around and, seriously, 90% of them are useless.
hopefully they'll dump some of the bad Sr. Directors and Directors.
technically they are offshoring - these are nike employees in poland and india...but yeah I am worried....nike continues to k–l its engineering culture....
If you are in tech and remotely decent at what you do, the are plenty of job out there. The upside of Covid is WAY more companies are willing to hire people remote. Get your linked in profiles updated and kick back and enjoy the holidays.
I am in tech and I could not care less; lay me off. Give me my severance package and I will gladly get the f— out of Nike and never look back.
So glad to have seen the light & left. Good luck!
