Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I'm in Tech and I'm seriously thinking about going back to teaching

JD said the layoffs were over, but that's not true for Tech or Global Ops as we'll be hit in January or February. I can't take it anymore and am thinking about returning to lower pay and return to a less stress, anxiety, better work life balance and something I love and that's rewarding. Rewarding at Nike? Whatever That's false. I just don't think it's worth it anymore. The blatant lies on All Hands, to the constant back and forth on job promotions being allowed or not allowed; the constant changes and lack of respect, lack of elevation of hard workers is just disgusting. Why do some Orgs get to make these decisions and promotions and others do not? I'm also worried about the immediate outsourcing to India. That's not good. You're using us to get through the Holidays and then our time is up.

I go through my days in back to back meetings that go no where because everyone is frustrated and trying to make decisions that counter other decisions. It goes no where; repeat and recycle. None of us are in our right minds and it's musical chairs on who will have a job.

And, you JD (a tech person)? You think this is right to treat your employees this way and lie to them that the layoffs are done? Well, lucky for you that you're Mega rich and can afford to not care. Been down to Earth lately? Oh, I'm sorry, you own it.

Last note: JD, may God look down upon you and judge accordingly. I'm trying to forgive you..............

200+ in Tech will be laid off in the first weeks of January. Tech workers are being used to get through the holidays and then their jobs are slated to be outsourced to India and Poland. You know, Poland, where the government functions COMPLETELY OPPOSITE to Nike's values of inclusion and acceptance. ("LGBT FREE" cities, anyone?) Nike is a machine and hypocrisy reigns.

Make the decision to do what is in your best interest while maintaining your values and integrity.

If teaching will make you a better version of yourself, then do that very thing.

If you teaching will make you sleep better at night, then do that.

If you teaching will make other peoples lives better, then do that.

If you're just staying around Nike to collect a paycheck but you're miserable, and likely making others miserable by association, then that's on you.

Separating is always hard while you're fully in it.

Now that I'm out of the company by layoff and not by choice, I'm not looking back nor complaining (too much anyway).
