Whole Foods Covid shortened hours means there are not enough hours for everyone to fill up a needed paycheck.After 11 years at this north side Chicago location I am forced to cash in 2 days of PTO per pay period to make rent and utilities.I am now applying for SNAP Illinois food assistance .First time in my life.I am over 55 so maybe WFoods is trying to get rid of older staff? I gave won awards and bonuses regularly for my performance and NEVER calling off. The Lincoln Park location is down to 285 staff from the usual 480.We are breaking our backs doing the work of 2 but at least I still have benefits ✅

florida region has full time workers at around 36 hours per week..its the part timers who are really getting screwed...sometimes they get 24 hours a week the next its 10hrs...this is why they retooled how we accumulate PTO hours..they knew they didnt want to keep paying us the hazard pay or give bonuses so they let us top off our checks with the new pto....more peanut under the shell capitalist games.....thanks overlords....
This surprises you that everyone isn't held to the same standard? WFM is built on knepotism the unworthy always thrive based on the connections they have made and the things they know upper leadership has done.
In the Florida region they let their friends/favorites/etc. not take a lunch and say late if they want to.
NA is getting more hours because we can't hire up enough. Every team has OT

I don’t think all stores are in this predicament of being short on hours. My store even though it has slowed, is still doing previous holiday sales type numbers. And have hired 40 seasonal team members without cutting anyone’s hours.
Of course they want long term employees gone they can pay somebody new considerably less. Pretty sure if you are full time they are required to schedule you atleast 32 i may be wrong though.
