Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Anyone hearing anything new?

I keep coming back to this site hoping to hear news on the layoffs. Any one heard anything at work? Low key, anxiety is getting to me (also, could be my coffee). What about you?

The 1900 cuts that was announced this year is let go in '21. There is not additional cuts on top of that mo–n.

In the tradition of ExxonMobil, we will be surprised, like a thief in the night. The best thing we can do is to not think about it, don't expect it, and it won't come to us, or will it??!!!!

That is not true. Some of leadership has certainly said this will happen well into next year. It has also been in the news.

Uh. No one has stated additional layoffs are planned in '21.

You know this is not the only layoff planned right, they said there will also be layoffs in 2021. So if you cannot work at EM in this environment type, you need to let go.

Can I offer myself to be laid off if my rating is "good" and they haven't mentioned layoffs to me ?

I would bet on continued layoffs through next year.

Attrition includes involuntary and PIP. It MUST be through the roof. Voluntary resignation is not unusually high. Very few Regrettable resignations

Is this in Texas? I am not surprised about this. I’m sitting on an offer myself and am tempted to pull the trigger. Will be a pay cut, but I sense the other company has a growth plan, it is growing, and is very much about collaboration, not backstabbing.

@ trf ... Heard that the voluntary numbers won’t be made available till November 30th.

@ trf ... through the roof? Nice. So no involuntary needed at all?

Only thing I’ve heard after talking to my DH is that attrition is through the roof. Unclear if they’ll factor that into involuntary layoff numbers.

I haven't heard anything new. I'm just waiting to see if the Company accepts my application for the voluntary program.
