no layoff was announced. we are safe till dec 2. if nothing happens on dec 2, then we will be safe till mid Feb.

Uh, yes, Cisco does. The year-end earnings call for FY16 announced one of Cisco's largest LR's. Impacted employees were notified the next day. I know this because my manager told our team to listen to the earnings call and I heard CR mention the lay offs. An hour later, I get a meeting invite from my manager for first thing the next morning where I was told I was being let go.

What is Nov 12th other than a date you pulled out of your a– to generate comments? Dec 2nd was announced back in mid-Aug as the date Phase 2 would notify people if they were being let go by not securing a new role if they opted to stay in place and look when they were notified in Phase 1 that they were "at-risk".
President-elect Biden's chances to undo Trump's corporate tax breaks will depend on control of the senate and how much negotiation they have to do to get anything through a potentially still Republican controlled senate. This really doesn't have anything to do with Cisco LR's, but again is a way to stir up comments.
Healthcare rates always seem to go up. Doesn't really matter WHO is controlling our government. Neither party really wants to "fix" what's broken with our healthcare system, which is that it's run as a pseudo monopoly. Healthcare providers set high rates, negotiate better discounts with insurance providers based on the number of people in the plan. Again, this really doesn't have anything to do with Cisco LR's, but again is a way to stir up comments.
