I went from praying to not be laid off to praying to being laid off. What they're doing amounts to a kind of torture - keeping us in suspense like this for weeks (or more like months.) I've started taking Xanax, and I know I'm not the only one. Staying here will only mean more of the same. Being laid off - at least I'll get some money that'll help me get by until I find something better.

No matter what the method, leaving ExxonMobil will be a wise move.
There are no green pastures, really, but it is not all a cesspool out there.

After 6 months of suspense, I too crave the sweet release of.. being released. Even if they keep me, I plan to have a new job scheduled to start during pip season. Shouldn’t be too hard to make the pip list next year.
I am praying for you to be LAID OFF also
You stole my thoughts. At first, I didn't want to be laid off, but now I see even if I make it, all the extra work from those leaving and having to train contractors to fill in will all fall on me. I'm at peace now, if I do get laid off, it will be a blessing in disguise. And thanks to Exxon I should be able to get by on the dividend :-)
Hang in their. I retired from EM after more than 35 yrs. I started in 1980 and the first major layoff was in 1982. I went through at least 7 lay off cycles. All was painful. Unfortunately down sizing is part of the energy business. Good luck to you and all impacted employee’s.
