I am a petroleum engineer by education and thinking to do something in the projects/commercial space. What about you?

I would love to hear success stories of people who have found jobs. Anyone been successful and can share?
If you are a veteran or member of any other group which companies track their hiring of and have targets for you are in a better situation. Many large companies have recruiters specifically for these classes of people. If you can find out who that recruiter is you have an advantage over other applicants.
A colleague in reservoir engineering have found success with a company that models contaminated groundwater. Superfund site cleanup, stuff like that.
Across the board people I talk to are leaving oil and gas. Project management skills seem quite transferrable.
Younger folks I have talked to are looking at going back to school (law, MBA, etc.).
I think this is a great question to be asking and what I hope to see more of on this board. Looking to the future and how to deal with the cards we have or are about to be dealt.
Do you have any programming skills? That's the direction I'm considering. I'm also an engineer.
I’m in IT and just want anything in the B2C space. B2B is boring...
I pivoted to specialty chemicals production. Biotechnology manufacturing is definitely on the rise. Consumer goods tends to be pretty consistent at this time. Good luck!
