Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Goodbye friends

So tough to say goodbye to so many people . It didn’t end the way we expected, and I wish I’d have been able to see many of you in person to say goodbye. It’s hard to know what to say. I’ve valued these friendships. Be well.

@4xtw, I know many people and we get along very well. But, I have only 4 good friends in this world and am truly more fortunate than many others who only have acquaintances. There’s a huge difference and it doesn’t matter if you’re young or old.

What's so dramatic about missing your friends and coworkers? It happens to everyone, more so with younger workers. Someone sounds like they don't have many friends and never will.

Please, OP. Don’t be so dramatic. These people you lament so much about are called acquaintances, not friends. Friends are the ones you already have close. Acquaintances are people you met or briefly knew, like most coworkers. Go get a new job in another company. You’ll met new acquaintances and if you’re lucky, find new friends.

@lzd, Are you the OP, or just repeating what he/she essentially just posted?

Since my layoff was during the middle of the pandemic hence it's impossible to say goodbye personally.

Don't think I will miss CVX but definitely the good friendships I developed with so many talented and kind colleagues over the years.....
Farewell! My friends, till we meet again....
