Any word on lay-off for Q4?

Anyone hearing solid info. regarding lay-off this month or through the quarter. Did Dell complete layoffs announced on September or is there more to come?

they seem to be getting all the money for future development in 2021. They must see something you don't.

Austin hates Data Domain. Fitting it into Dell selling tools is like putting a square peg on a round hole. There were only a handful of orders for DPD going through Dell tools. Hardly doing well. But if the previous commenter thinks so, then everyone is entitled their opinion.

Shipping 3 Juno(s) must be doing well in within a timeframe of 1 year from launch start to now doesn’t sound great to me.

Seems DPD is the only area doing well.

Everything’ changes at a moments notice. Is it the truth or an illusion? What is true today about no WFR, may turn out to be a lie tomorrow.

If you are part of DPD, jump the ship now.

We just began Q4 so the message is to keep the focus and continue to sell/deliver for year end close. As for leadership messaging, every message is point-in-time and our early due diligence (forward-looking view) helps to shape contingencies (what if models). If you're in Sales, you'll have a view of our week over week forecast to see for yourself if Q4 is shaping up as a strong quarter.

I think we have weakness due to continued COVID impacts, delaying purchase decisions - your view may differ. Regardless, best wishes to all.

I was impacted in september layoffs. Now on connecting dots of what all happened in 2020, my manager used to use a lot of "coaching" keyword in 1:1. I just ignored it or found not relevant at all. So to me now it looks like I was being hinted that I am on a "coaching plan" similar to what we have in other companies now (Devplan etc). So "coaching" is the keyword to catch here.

Thank you for the follow-up. Curious if you are in sales, and if so were you on the same Global SPS internal all-hands a couple of weeks ago in which the SVP specifically stated that there are no more WFRs scheduled or planned, and that we are in stabilization mode with the new org? Not saying your viewpoint is wrong, just trying to gather more info

I'm in NA mgmt but will not disclose more - my comments are based upon due diligence in previous quarters, prior to WFR actions. If you believe in our products and services, I'm not saying it's time to panic. Just offering a management directional viewpoint to which you can disagree.

I share because I have many great folks I've worked with over the past 20 years that are being impacted and caught believing that WFR's are a thing of the past. As a result, they've feel resentful towards a company that has been quite good to them but were caught up in the change.

If you think you're at risk, start looking now rather than hoping for a reprieve

What are you basing this on- "we have a large EFR planned for Q4"?

Yes - we have another large WFR scheduled for Q4, trying to clean-up the cost model and write-downs before year end. Expect an accelerated closures/consolidation of facilities as well. I'm being asked for lots of forward-looking forecast data, which typically shape headcount req'mts.

Guys, stop being d—s. We all know that VWRAPS happen late november, we care about what happens and there are leaving bonuses. Its the same every year

Was on an internal, all hands sales\pre-sales call last week and the SVP of Global Sales specifically said that there are "NO MORE MASS layoffs planned". Take it for what it's worth, and unsure if that applies to other organizations as well

didn't they have one in September?

Too soon for another layoff. The optics would be bad. Next one will be sometime early next year.

I dont see a company sinking, just adapting, Better to be here than HPE at the moment.

For folks who might be interested, layoffs happen most of the time on Wednesday and in the early half of the day. So any 1on1 on a Wednesday can bring bad news.

Winter is coming. No seriously, remember Jeff Clark’s last All Hands - he was as clear as possible. WFR will continue as long as necessary. Dell is a Giant Tanker very Slow moving and adapting and now -very slowly- starting to sink...
