Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Can anyone recommend an employment attorney?

This corruption must be exposed!

As a shareholder, I like all the stealth layoffs. Maintains brand value while boosting dividends. Hopefully the ELT can quietly outsource a few more thousand jobs in January. Might it ruin the lives of American families? Who cares.

Troll. Shareholders don't like stealth layoffs because that doesn't raise the stock price because no one knows it's happening. Shareholders, other than current employees, like announced layoffs because the company is announcing how much operational expenses they're saving which should increase profits based on the same revenue. That's what raises the stock prices.

But Cisco has stopped being transparent about how many people are impacted because people don't want to know how many people's livelihoods are impacted, they just want to how much the company is saving to increase dividends.

But, you are right that (most) shareholders don't care about people being hurt, or that talent is being forced out of the company because they've stopped culling the bottom 5 or 10% and have started culling the more expensive workers, but not upper management or ELT.

If they have to keep only H1B's employed in US, its better they ship all jobs to India.

cisco should be made to go bankrupt.

Oh, so instead of a few thousand losing their jobs, let's cost 70K+ people to lose their jobs. That's brilliant.

Instead, how about forcing Cisco to pay some fines, provide additional money's to those impacted unfairly, and have future reductions approved/vetted by an independent outside party/oversight group to prevent future abuses.

I would contact the firm that has IBM on suit for age discrimination. You can look it up on WRAL. Cisco would not want to hear from them now that they have IBM over a barrel and possibly facing Class Action.

Call the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin.. at least that is what they always said on WRAL
