Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Professional Services

I was told I was being laid off at the end of December. But Verizon continues to win new business. Unfortunately Verizon’s professional services division has bad actors as management. They continue breaking the law and infringe on employee rights.

I was laid off too and keep getting invited to sales meetings with existing customers where I have to tell them I am leaving the company only to hear them complain and ask me to connect with them on LinkedIn. The sales people I work with have been telling me to message this guy and that guy internally in Verizon so they don't loose me (I've made a few guy a LOT of money over the past few years). Verizon put in the notice that you can find another postion in the company - which doesnt exist BTW (unless you move to India).

Look at the names of the new "leaders". They want us all outsourced to India so they can hook up their friends and family and prove on a short term report that they "cut costs". Verizon has sold itself to cheap overseas labor.

The products they have been putting out the past few years have been garbage along with the support. Leadership has been losing VERY LARGE projects with enterprise clients I have been working on because in the words of multiple customers - "Verizon is just too difficult to deal with" and "is the most expensive game in town". AT&T and Lumen/CenturyLInk have been K–lING it in this space for the past few years and stealing business away. I tried my hardest to bridge this gap and Verizon as company doesnt seem to care as some bean coutner equates customer satisfaction and service as loss for the company. In a few years they will be out of the enterpise space all together and just mooch what they can out of the wireless network. The bluejeans c-apshow they just put out was the probably the final straw. When we presented it clients they asked if we were serious and lauged at us.

Fear not though.. If you are worth your while you will have a new job immeidately where you make it your focus at your new postion to not do with business with Verizon and/or move their existing customer base to your new employer. Your customers will thank you for as they can follow you and not have to deal with the PIA of Verizon anymore. I have received muliple offers from customers and Verizon competitors immeidatly after putting myself on the market. You're fine!

You being laid off has nothing to do with them winning new business. What laws are being broken and how were your rights infringed upon?
