Just like IBM's old employees: "unsuitable for upgrading."

They are also closing centers here in Europe but this makes sense, they were buildings that were half empty.

Melbourne certainly has the potential to become unreliable so I imagine this can only benifit users in the long term to move and shut the place down. At least it should keep givesome of the exceess execs somethimg to do for a little while that transition takes place.

No, Softlayer is located at RTP in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dallas was an outsourcing datacenter and cloud backup.
