Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Can it get any worse?

17 years ago I thought Honeywell could do no wrong. I was so naive then. Today we are constantly faced with short term cost cutting measures, being micromanaged to the moon and back over such trivial things, and critical issues within the company that will never be addressed because executive leadership’s only concern is their bottom line and not the future of HON. I ask myself when it will get better. I have yet to find the answer.

Unfortunately, It will get worse. You have to think in HON’s terms, this is a job and not a career. HON aerospace has made little investment in new products or technologies.

Remember the ‘we win what you want to win’ mantra a few years back? The only bid on contracts that they they had a product for already in place that needed few if any modifications. Used to be that we owned the AC. Aircraft operators are familiar with HON and our performance, they want options and they are not HON.

Do you think Boeing will ever again put an exterior light on their AC after the latest experience from Urbana? HON has diminished the reputation of Grimes Aerospace about as low as it can go.

I shake my head whenever I see an intern or recent graduate accept a job with HON. It just isn’t going to end well.

Older employees need to develop an exit strategy and execute it as soon as practical. Those close to retirement, grit your teeth and perseverance will pay off, maybe.

HON is in it for the short term and the money, maybe you should be as well?

i can only say it is interesting in watch the death of a company with the global force ineptness to repeat. There is not much time life and say good buy to your pension. If you are lucky to still have one.

@2qkq+17YJOSG4. On the contrary. I think it proves you do not need Ivy league schools to produce greedy self-absorbed A-holes, state schools (for the working class) can still produce the same caliber for a lot less!

Truely inspirational!

Don't like the leadership right now? Be careful what you ask for. They may replace him with someone greedier, less qualified, less sympathetic, more racist and less inclusive.

DA acts like a coddled only child from a communist country who only sees value in himself

Stock has to crash. All C-level guys need to be booted. Value has to go to 20%. Otherwise the lesson will not be learned.

It most certainly will get worse for US and Canada workers. I have witnessed first hand budget cutting on no less than 3 projects where the measly bottom line can only be worked by low cost resources. Please realize that the HTS India labor rate is literally 5.8 times lower than US rates - absolute truth!

ALL NPI work is going to HTS...

New Leaders goal is to use Honeywell to get rich. They don't like making parts, they don't want to be involved in the details, they don't want to grow the business. They want cash, and want a lot of that cash to flow to them. In the end do you think they will be pround of Honeywell? Or proud of what thay did for themselves. When they sit around talking with friends and family I don't think they will be saying look at this great company I helped build. It will be look at this great house we have, great friends, kids in good colleges, great places we've been, great retirement.

Every Day,
In every way,
Honeywell is becoming more and more
of what it was the day before.

It will get better when you leave, with or without another job. Trust me. Stay until your 401k match is paid out, and start looking for another job about 6 weeks before that. Get your resume in shape now. Happy Holidays.

Until engineers start running the place again, and money men given the boot, it will continue decline. I've got 30+ years in, and it's not the same company.
