We need a CFO that can talk to the market that the market respects. Stephen's was in with Randy and Stinky on these botched deals and is now bailing but taking his full year bonus

Ralph De La Vega got caught billing wireless customers unnecessarily so yeah I guess he was great at att because senior management is nothing but robber barons and snake oil salesmen.

Since the 2007 acquisition of AT&T by SBC, there has only been one good C Suite executive and that was Ralph De La Vega. All the rest have been absolute garbage.

Has there been anyone hired in the C-Suite that has been impressive over the past few years? Does anyone have the credentials or the industry expertise? Or, are we simply bringing in people that will say "Yes" and fire people?

I personally think John Stephens did a good job. His entire job was to make the money side work based on the decisions the CEO was making. He wasn’t the person responsible for creating our current financial debacle.

A bitter truth, no wonder you are down-voted.

The company is not a democracy and Stephens has no power to overrule Randall's disastrous decisions.

CFO's job is making the money side work, not opining on the wisdom of the CEO.

Stephens was the CFO when his good friend the CEO went on a buying spree that put the company under a massive amount of debt. Did he agree with the strategy? Was he the voice of fiscal constraint? We'll probably never know or will have to wait for history to tell us. One thing is for sure, consulting companies, brokers, and Stephens himself made a ton of money while rank and file employees lost their jobs. He won't be missed.

he is a number one a-hxxx and is a big cause of att failures in my book. but he will be touted as some financial genius and will take his golden parachute.

Let's hope he takes Donovan's Cookies (the Fraud 5) with him - Arnoldi, Asplund, Biry, Knight, Robertson

Stephens is already gone - Stankey gave him the boot so he could put his guy in that position. The replacement already has the title SE VP. Stephens is only around to this year's bonus payout.

In another development, Elliot management has sold all its shares in AT&T. Stankey is in complete control.

How many John do we have and how many had left?

Problematic... The new CFO coming over from TW has zero Telecom accounting experience. Either get ready for some shocking revelations and their impact to T stock or for the new guy to roll on out of CFO slot before the end of 2021. All depends on whether he wants to play imaginary accounting games with the Stinkster to keep the role or has an parachute position somewhere else in the Entertainment Industry.
