I had fiber to my house good for six months then it went down to 110/200 mbps up and down and of course in the fine print att says they do not guarantee any speed.
dumped it after that and went with a provider that guarantees their speed and they have met their obligation so far. att knows nothing about obligation and keeping their word. won't buy anything from the snake oil salesmen any more. Att is one of the most corrupt companies up and down.
i hope anybody thinking of working there runs far far far far far far away.
Every single person I run into wants att fiber, how can the uppers not see that, they need to ask technicians what customers and non customers actually want. I can get at least 150million customers on fiber tomorrow if they would b willing to spend a little bit of money
It will still be a cesspool and will never change.
we will survive but only if media and business are split up - free the business side to do what they do best and let media work on their fantasy land of anti trump, anti conservative media - this is worse than water and oil

Over the next 5-years we will still be saying the same stuff. DTV/UV will be partially sold off. But the physical infrastructure will remain with T and T will have a partial say on how the video operations is run. T will have tried to load up as much debt into the offshoot of the DTV/UV company as possible but most of that will fall through in the end because the new company will string T along until the last min. And T will be too willing to dump as much of the video biz as possible that they will fold. The new company has to purchase the video from T as part of the deal.
Just after the sale the FCC will suddenly be willing to allow a DTV/Dish merger and the value of DTV will jump. T misses out again. The new DTV/Dish no longer needs the video from T and cuts ties with T all together. Lose-lose
I went to business school in the 90s. The buzz word back then was “Core Competencies” and doing one thing really well (like building a Telecom network) and divest yourself of non-Core business (like Satellites). I say we ditch TV and just do Telecom really well.
Excuse me, but ATT is just ATT and stopped using the American Telephone and Telegraph moniker back in the 80’s!

Nothing,it will still exist!They are called American telephone and Telegraph!They may change that to television! With all the government contracts they make money, there is a profit from all sides of this business so don’t think for a moment that this giant company can’t roll for another 100years unless we give up on customer service! Be the best you can be wherever you are and make sure you give 100 percent and you will always have a job!
