They’re forcing us to go back to work for Sam’s yet I Am a senior and don’t feel safe working with the floor with the public. I was hired on by crossmark to do demos not by Sam’s ..at least doing demos I’m behind a shield, Can they do this?please anyone?

I work for Crossmark and feel very fortunate to still be employed. The pandemic was not foreseen but thank God we still have the option to work with Sam's club. As I realize many seniors who were hired for demos can not perform certain task for Sam's, there are tasks that you can do. Our seniors help out by folding clothes etc. We were also given the option to apply for medical leave. So far no one has contracted the virus as many safety features are in place.

I work for Crossmark/Sams. I’m worried Crossmark is going to lay us off in December. Are they keeping us until the contact is paid off. I can’t get another job. I tried everything from Target to temp agencies.

Technically crossmark hired you for demos but part of contract also stipulates caters towards vendor needs. Vendor aka sams needs to sanitize,or help out thats what you do.
Also crossmark could also flat out lay off since got not revenue, vendor ( sams) came ip with sanitizing until things gets better. Something is better than nothing.
Also many crossmark employees were given option to help one day a week, also you could chose be on floor or do something in the back awY from people..things aren't black and white as think, is very very flexible.

Definitely find other employment. Not only is Sam's abusive towards the elderly, but those members and clubs are unsanitary to say the least. You will find something and you will be happier!

Are demo employees where told a couple days ago either work at least one day week for Sam's or turn in you're notice and reapply when you feel like you can work

Our Crossmark folks are wondeful. Sam's has kept them employed during the pandemic. In the beginning they deep cleaned. Now they help zone freezer/cooler, they zone on floor, they sanitize carts. They are so helpful. They are all happy to have jobs. I am a merchandiser, and also am a senior, I have no fears.

You have work yet you don’t want to come back. How long do you think unemployment should last? I am sure your company has a contract with Sam’s. Maybe you should find a different job because this pandemic is not going away any time soon.
