Do you think if I do not get selected in R4 that we can pretend that I hit the EOI? Seems as that happened alot in R3.

I hit EOI and will be p-ss-d if they give me a job. Can’t wait to get out of oil and gas....
The big green button , YEAH I'm 60 and can't wait , almost a year of pay , UB, only another year to wait to collect what left of UB. Move somewhere cheaper and healthier away from the traffic and the rat race
What I’m wondering is what are the chances of them giving you a position if you didn’t apply for anything and only hit the EOI button?
I’m a mid career employee with about 20 years left before I can retire. I hit the EOI button. I’d like to just put my house up for sale now and start the process to get the hel! Outta here now. It’s going to s— if they don’t give it to me though.
Yes.... who cares.
I remember the layoffs from 2015. I was shocked by some of the people who were let go. In my opinion, some of the best were cut loose. But what was even more shocking was some of the people they kept.
Seriously, it’s a sh!t show. Anything can happen and it will leave you shaking you head.
I know it is hard to say when it is not you, but if you do get left standing. Don’t take it personally, I think it is more about luck than actual performance, It is people making split decisions without really thinking it through because they have so many folks they have to go through in their selection meetings.
Anyway, good luck to all.
That big EOI button sure was tempting!
Is this just a pride thing?
Unless you hang out with your work friends. Who cares. It happens
2008 / 2009 is the pivotal year where the pension plan available to you could factor into you decision.
If you're young, single, in IT, and in the Bay Area then you've got a big decision to make. Apparently a large number of Millennials still live at home so if that's your situation, and your career is stagnant then what the hell are you waiting for? Do you really want to end up like younger boomers, late Gen Xer's wondering how they will manage 5-10 years from now. Chevron will be here, but will not resemble legacy O&G.
Yes I will act like is choose this. Hey wife, kids, big mortgage, new truck, tons of debt, no savings. Why would I not hit the EOI.
I finally put my job postings in the tool and even though I never seriously considered it, it’s just asking to be clicked!!
It doesn’t matter. Everyone knows this is a sh!tshow clusterfukc cost cutting exercise that will have some very random head scratching results.
For what purpose? Outcome is the same.
I noticed that, too. Lots of “retirements”.
