Attorney found

I found an attorney who says their firm will represent us.
2 things

  1. Our "accrued" vacation hours they didn't give us this year. We acrrued our vacation last year for this year. They didn't change the policy online until February. THAT'S THE BIGGEST factor. We are owed what we acrrued in 2019.
  2. Discrimination since they offered at least two ambassadors 26 weeks severance one salary and one hourly. They knew our jobs were being eliminated based on three insiders at the time of those two layoffs. They wanted to make it look not so obvious.

Don't return your papers. I work in Tampa. How do I get a hold of everyone?

I would certainly be interested.
One group of over 50 X-ambassadors shared information via FB, but found "For The People" wasn't......for the people.
Has the attorney got any advice on how to reach out to others?

SeaWorld will follow the state laws that require PTO to be paid out because they would lose in court. Sounds like Pennsylvania and California pay out, but that will only be for the hourly employees. SEA changed the PTO policy for salaried employees going into 2020. It was positioned at "unlimited time off upon leadership approval".

The problem is that you only have 2 more weeks to decide if your dismal severance is worth the risk. I am assuming most FT/Salaried were given 4 weeks (which for me is 22 weeks less under the new policy).

The Company stopped paying out vacation to termed people a few years ago. How would being laid off change that? Or am I missing something? The policy online said people were still paid out when they were termed?

Probably Seaworld would not care who you are but future employers might. They will not hire someone who works against his employer regardless of cause. You should create a new email address that masks your ID altogether. You don't want future employers to do a Google search on you and find out that you turned against an employer.

They don't have to pay vacation or upon term. In PA they do. SO IF YOU WORK AT SESAME PLACE fight for your vacation balance. If you are still employed, they need to give you your accrued vacation balance as of 12/31/19. Then starting this year, you are accruing PTO.

Yes, they used the word "accrue" in the old vacation policy. I have a copy of the policy for the attorney. They changed in online the middle of February.
An accrual is used to track and record something such a vacation that has been earned but not received, or expenses that have been incurred but not paid.
We earned (accrued) our vacation in 2019 for 2020.
