Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Time for a union?

With all the layoffs happening at Optum, with no end in sight, in addition to the fact that the jobs are not being eliminated but moved to India or Philippines, is it time form a union?

I am curious what others think?

Try to unionize and they will fire you immediately. Not just you but your entire department will be axed. Corporate already has a playbook to follow if their employees try to unionize and it isn't pretty.

Generally union busting takes care of unionized employees first.

"a union will ensure the entire company moves to india." Thanks to american capitalism. the lust for profits over people. Profits were their God.

Very few if any employment protections, safety nets, or employee rights. Metaphor: Your the tenant living in a slum, while the landlord gets another billion. the american workers are hamster wheeling into oblivion.

Corporate Stockholm Syndrome can be defined as employees of a business beginning to identify with—and being deeply loyal to—an employer who mistreats them (defined as verbal abuse, demanding overly long hours, few if any benefits, gas lighting, group think/hive mentality, gang stalking, and generally ignoring the wellbeing and emotional needs of the employee).
