Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

ASAP layoff

We are being told the assessment will take 4 to 6 weeks to find out if were getting laid off. We should not have to wait. Every few, days we are fed little bits of info about the layoff. Theyre honna string us along until it benefits them. Not me I have my plan in place. I will not be stuck in Allstate limbo.

I believe you each have the right to know how “the assessment” mattered or factored into the final decision. Assessment my a–.

This was announced a long time ago, publicly. The shareholders are very aware or aware as they want to be.

Was in ASAP - got a job elsewhere way before the assessment. Thank god. Shame on Allstate for knowing about layoffs but not announcing till end of the fiscal year for the shareholders. My advise to you ASAP employees who are older in age - find another job, the assessment was to remove you and hire younger talent without the lawsuits

4-6 weeks for an automated assessment is very Allstate-like. Take forever to do anything...

Heads up: the assessment means nothing. It's just a "clever" way of Allstate circumventing just straight up laying you off. There's been MANY people that did not do the assessment and are keeping their positions. On top of the arbitration agreement you were forced to sign last year, Allstate has done a bit of "CYA" for themselves. So just know that if you're getting cut, it's already been decided and the assessment/your performance/tenure means absolutely nothing.

As a retired Allstate employee it’s hard to fathom the company ousting 10% of its staff while continuing to pay Tom Wilson over $19,000,000 this year.

The waiting game is part of the psychological business plan for cost savings. The potential to break you, to make you quit prior to severance, is great during this time and worth it to them. They will take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way. There is a goal and that’s to save money at all costs. Humans costs in this equation are part of the long term plan. Even if you don’t leave before the lay off announcements, you’ll be ready to by the time they’re done messing with you for the next 3-4 months. The way Allstate has treated their American employees and agents is disgusting and will be sorely remembered for decades. Just another CEO and his henchmen squatting on the people in the USA. Employees agents customers it’s a squat show.

I’m also in ASAP and it’s hard being strung along not knowing what the hell to do. Personally I feel the comment below is correct that they will be laying off mostly all of us and the ones left will handle doi and specialty.

After 24 years as auto field adjuster I quit 1st week of August. I could no longer settle claims the way I was told. If policyholders think they are in good hands what a joke. I have been thru numerous RIFS during the past 24 yrs, this latest reduction was total payroll cut. I and my coworkers have been working under a black cloud for months and months never knowing if we had a job or not in the future, no way to treat what used to be loyal employees. No one that is left enjoys this job anymore, this company is bi-polar at best. Morally bankrupt decisions, process, metrics are all but out of reach for most people, the teachers pets survive, the nosers succeed. Cancelled all of my auto and home policies after 24 yrs and switched to Hartford, 1/2 the price of Allstate. It is sad what this company has turned into.

Word going around is with the Chairman's Team being totally eliminated and no more agency concerns being allowed soon, and with CCC handling customer concerns themselves going forward that ASAP will only be keeping a very few people to handle DOI complaints. Hearing numbers as little as 20 people out of all of ASAP. This is almost a total elimination of the ASAP department.

Welcome to claims world - this has been going on for 4 months.
IF you have potential severance - don't leave. Wait until you get the severance

This nightmare will probably not end for years especially for Allstate employees and agents in the US.
