Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is it too late?

I started with the company a few years ago. I was fresh out of college and considered this to be my first “adult” job. Back then I loved the idea of working here. But lately I feel like this company is on a downhill slide. I’ve witnessed a few solid employees walk away from Fiserv, and the others who bring value were laid off. Most time when we need management support it is far and few between. It feels like our company no longer has direction. Does anyone think it’s worth it to stick it out? Or is it too late?

I am from the OFD but let go prior to the Fiserv merger after 21 years. I went to a new company and it is million times better. Better pay, way better 401K matching, and all sorts of other good stuff. Don't waste your time at Fiserv with FB running the show. To them you are only a number.

Personally I enjoy working for Fiserv. I even like the people from First Data. The different tools from First Data seem to be pretty robust. Looking forward to where this goes.

Now is the time to move. You have a few years of experience, that you can put to good use for someone who appreciates you. Be sure to research the company first. Recommendations from a friend may get them a bonus, and help you get in the door. Don't wait until you feel totally disillusioned to start looking. And, make sure to look at the benefit package for next year. If co-pays, deductibles, & insurance cost rise, and stock discounts & 401K matches don't come back you are losing money to stay.

You know I just read the HR post, and the only think i have to say. If the company is doing so well. Then why isn't it taking care of it's employee's and giving them their basic benefits back? LIke ESPP stock discount purchase or maybe the 401K match?

I would start looking for a new job. If you are seeing that, then you are in a rudderless part of the company, and there is a chance that you could get let go.

If the new Fiserv is so good and FB doing so well why did the stock plummet 6% after hours? The market has recovered except for travel stocks yet FISV is 20%+ off its high.

All of the reply’s to this young man or woman are disgusting. Tell me a better company in this COVID environment that will generate $4B in FCF alone. The people programs at the new Fiserv are light years ahead of what we had at OFS. Anyone who attended Franks call would say so, objectively. O worked in HR at OFS so I should know. Stick it out find a sponsor/mentor if you perform you will be rewarded nicely with promotions and additional dollars. Don’t listen to these haters, they only want to watch good people do incorrect things as they sit on the sidelines and do nothing for our clients, our associates and certainly nothing for our shareholders. Time for each of you to look in the mirror and observe your negativity for what it is.

The coming major reorg that will decimate whatever is left of OFS leadership will be the final straw. While Jeff licks his wounds and plans to get the band back together at another company. Karma really is a b–ch sometimes

If you are 65 years old, you should stay so you can severance yourself into retirement. So unless you went to college when you were 60 this likely will not help you.

Look around, find something better, take your time, then leave.

Most companies aren't very keen on promoting or giving big raises, but Fiserv is completely rotten about it (doubly so since they consistently pay lower-than-market.)

Seriously, you can get both a promotion (from junior to mid-level) and a healthy raise by simply working for someone else. If I were in your shoes, I'd leave.

Fiserv made it easy to leave, because over a year ago, right after one of the first big layoffs you could clearly see what was coming. For those good people left, please leave because you can be making more money, with better benefits, and working less for another organization. Life is much too short to deal with this mess.

The current leadership is lost and is only focused on their stock options of which they have many. Take your hard earned experience and use it to greatly grow your salary and work for a healthy company
