First Data Processing was George Daltons company he founded. Nothing to do with the First Data you speak of.
Fiserv dates from July 31, 1984, from the merger of Sunshine State Systems, Inc. (Tampa, Florida) and First Data Processing (Milwaukee, Wisconsin).
Without First Data there wasn't Fiserv to begin with.
