As I've posted before, it's all about the profit margin percentage. They can't control revenue but they can control cost. Leadership is simple. Project 4Q revenue and current cost structure to get projected profit margin. Assuming projection is unfavorable, cut enough costs (people) to improve margin to target. Can I have my big bonus now?

Think for a good 5 minutes on what it will take before you leave the company, what are the bare minimums you are currently happy with because sooner or later they are going to take it away. Layoffs are an unlucky lottery and you have the power to take your destiny in your own hands, don’t let them believe they can continue to take without consequences to talent, experience and ultimately results.

I agree with @Bob Porter. The OP is not the issue here. Everyone needs to assume their job is next on the chopping block because it likely is. Make preparations however you need to wether it be eliminating debt, job searching or other means to secure your own future. Take the furloughs with a grain of salt and enjoy the time off. Use it to look for other jobs so you can easily dump HON when the opportune time presents itself. Always remember that Honeywell treats objects like employees and you are easily replaced or let go with zero regard to the ramifications of such an action. The guy making the decisions is a real reactionary. Always remember that. Just because we are expendable that doesn't mean we're saps. Cover your behind and you'll be fine, just like a tumbling tumbleweed.

Any RIF/Furlough news today? Leadership seems to be awfully quiet. Didn't see anything last week.

The date may have been false but the cost cutting will continue. Nobody still working here should fear or have anxiety about the reality of the economy. Take control of the situation and prepare for the worst. Furloughs should be the least of your worries. The OP is not the issue here. Your livelihood should not be dependent solely on next weeks paycheck. Good luck & Merry Riffmas!

Original Poster - Thank you for falsely creating fear / anxiety for everyone because you happen to be bored last week and decided to create this post for your own amusement. Please do tell - will we have a furlough announcement this Friday as well????

Everyone on my team had to submit their resume. My guess: furloughs and de-banding roles from 4 to 3 will be next. At least Honeywell increased its dividend in Q4.

This appears to a very active thread. Furloughs being announced aren’t impacting throughout. Only certain functions, regions are going to have this exercise conducted.

I am the real tired director and left voluntarily In June. The fake TD has posted a few times since I left and never gives specifics. I am sure there are many tired directors at Honeywell and when postIng they should come up with a different name to not confuse people. Good luck to all!

Which SBG or is it the whole Honeywell group? Everyone expected it being AERO since they are always the front runners of cutting costs especially when airlines aren’t pulling out their carriers from the tarmac but someone posted earlier that the AERO president congratulated the team of a magnificent quarter so its confusing what TD is describing here.

Weird. My group is hiring again after firing the higher paid (older) employees. Not sure how that works with legal but they’ll Most likely change the title to get around it.

I can't wait for another week off! Take a week off unpaid, come back and delete all the emails from that week and just hang out. You're not gonna get a free week of work out of me, mad dog. You see folks, they expect you to "make up" the work you missed during that week so they want to give you an unpaid week off, then they want you to work twice as much the week you return. NOPE! Wanna furlough me? Great! Just don't expect me to work twice as hard upon my return.

Maybe @OP is the real TD, maybe not. But I've seen this show before. Furlough the first month of the quarter. Then no holidays, no vacation, and mandatory overtime to make numbers last 6 to 8 weeks of the quarter. Enjoy the week off, you'll more than make up for it. It'll all hit the fan around the week of Nov 9.

The only reason the dividends are up - because they sh!t canned the workforce. Do the math. This & furloughs are the only reason this mess is afloat.

Anyone who believes MadDog is done cutting costs is a fool. He's already warned that additional actions will be taken unless the Aero business improves. Airlines are going to furlough/layoff thousands starting in Oct. Hon will do the same.

The real TD turned in his paperwork and is no longer at HON. The poster is an imposter, since he/she says they can't wait to get a break from this c-ap as if they still work at HON.

Talk of hiring at DV due to all the revcogs work. Forget about new RIFs there at least. Would be surprised if there are new RIFs. Who knows about furloughs because they would just tell us to keep the schedule and work extra for free.

Anyone can post as anyone here so who knows if really TD or a poser.
