9000 includes 1500 who took Shell Voluntarily Severance Package. Actual will layoffs figure would be much higher. Senior leaders are bunch of liars. Low cost centers are not impacted (e.g. Bangalore) and are gradually consuming high cost centers’ jobs...

Here is a quick analysis that someone just posted

Doing a quick check of revenue to headcount based on information readily available on macrotrends.com to compare company decisions on layoffs.

Headcount is EOY 2019 while revenue is quarter ending 6/30/2020

Company - (recent revenue (B)/ headcount)*1000
Marathon - (15.0 / 60910) = 0.25
ExxonMobil - (32.6 / 74900) = 0.43
Chevron - (13.5/48200) = 0.28
BP - (31.2 / 70100) = 0.44
Shell - (32.5 / 83000) = 0.39

I tip my hat to Shell leadership. They are being honest about the layoff.
Unlike Shell, our XOM gutless leaders will continue to say “no layoffs” and get rid off people on the stealth. What a bunch of cowards leading XOM.

So roughly a 10% cut (9000 layoffs- 83,000 employees).

I think our headcount will be “ we don’t have any layoff plans” while thousands will be laid off.

Last I heard, we have about 75,000 people. I would be curious how many people have left due to PIP or PIL.
