I was told at the club I'm working at that there is a 60 40 rule. In which as long as you work 60% of your time in your job code they can use you wherever they need you. Is this true or is it to prevent management from hiring more maintenance associates?

You need to call Ethics. And document every day you're working in carts.
It use to be if you work more than 50% in a secondary job code you need to be compensated for that job code if it is a higher pay scale. But, they always got around that by working you in that secondary more some weeks and less other weeks so they flew under the radar. Bottom line, the associate needS to speak out and not allow it. Open door. We all gag with laughter when we say “open door” but if you go about it the right way with the right attitude it does work.

I think it is 40 associates work while 60 lazy associates watch them work.
Yes that is correct. I think it also has to be for 3 pay cycles
I think it's you give 40% effort to your job for 60% of your shift.
I’m merchandiser but spend 100% of my time doing backroom. Don’t complain about it because I don’t have to deal with members in the back.
Similar to the 80-40-20 rule and the rule of 10s. You can also use the rule of 7s so long as you combine it with the 30/90 rule.
