@1vns+17ex2UeU: A fast Google search blows my claim out of the water? A Google search of what?
All you have to do is look at the “About You” on the VZ Web, click on “My Pension” and it gives you all the figures.
I show it to my co-workers with less service all the time so they can know what to expect.
I’m sure you can easily find someone to show you their about you numbers, they’re not really secret.
Currently, my lump sum is $780K.
If you choose not to believe it, that’s up to you, but you can easily check it out.
I have no idea what you are searching for on Google.

I see nothing here in my research about joining a union to become a millionaire. Every article I have ever read about this subject echos the below link. According to all the millionaires interviewed and the IRS stats, millionaires become so by self determination, not joining a union. For those union members that can't understand plain English, here is a link with pictures, maybe this will help you all out. As for my financial stature, that is none of your business and I don't need to come to a message board and brag about it either.

And please, stop the bragging, it's so sophomoric and and lowbrow.

Looks like union members don't have "research" in their vocab either. Seems all they do is sit on this message board and brag about what they claim they have with no proof and do it anonymously too. No one falls for this clap-tap either and the more these types push their clap-tap the more we all see right thru it.

A fast google search that I did and that anyone can do to fact check your posting pretty much blows it out of the water.

@1gzi+17ex2UeU: Show you the financials? I don’t know how one would go about that, but the only easily verifiable part is that a lump sum pension for any 30-year person in their 50’s or early 60’s is anywhere between $750K and $850K+
Add in whatever you may have in your 401K and you can see that any prudent person has over $1M for retirement pretty much automatically. If you save and work at it and manage your 401K then it is most likely much more.
I don’t doubt you know union workers that are in debt, I know doctors that are, but for the most part union workers can easily retire comfortably.
Many of the union workers you speak of that are in debt now won’t be when they and their spouses have penalty free access to their 401’s, etc.

@ @upv

I am 47 pal and with my conservative and prudent investments from the day I graduated from college I am already worth 1.7 million and outright own my own home. And, I drive a Telsa model S as my second car, first is a Mercedes Benz AMG E class.

I paid attention in school and I don't need a crummy union to hand hold me throughout my life like many of you seem to need, because you are too daft to take care of yourself.

I work at Verizon because I CHOOSE TOO! That is the difference between you and me pal, I don't have to work here, you do! You can get the axe just like anyone else BTW. No union can "guarantee" you a job! The axe can fall on you just as well as me. The obvious difference is I will land on my feet and do just fine, you on the other hand will be begging the union for support.

Cool...

I hope you figured the cost of paying for your health care into your 401K savings.(pssst...it goes up every year)

I hope you can work until you hit S.S. age(you'll be lucky to get 50% of what you think you're getting when the feds are through with it )

I hope you don't get let go in the never ending Riffs and layoffs.(like every other person I've seen here who thought they were invaluable to this place)

Meanwhile union represented employees will all be retired in our mid 50s-early 60s as millionaires with full health benefits for life while you're in a cubicle logging into the Layoff talking sh–.

Enjoy that.

Sorry bud, us at wireless have all the same stuff you union people do and more. I don't need a union to take care of my future, I can do that myself as I am an adult and live in an a adult world, don't need hand holding either... and have life skills that clearly union members don't have.

All the stupid remarks from the Jealous people who don't have union representation.
Hysterical.

You keep your cozy work at home jobs while we make ALOT more money and our benefits allow us to retire with lifetime insurance and a nice pension.

Laugh it up you dopes. Lets see how funny you think it is when you get laid-off and try to find gainful employment in your 40s.

Suddenly not so funny when you're living in the basement of your Moms condo.

I would hope so, but we all know the Union has no say in the matter, the Company makes all the decisions, the Union just spins the decisions as “we negotiated ” ...

Not if you work for a union! On the wireless side (non-union) this is what we do, always and it's the way we roll! If you want to work from home most of the time and garage from home most of the time then you need to apply for a wireless job and leave your union behind.
