Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

If you think things are bad at Chevron check out Exxon’s message board

Looks like they have an insurrection brewing against their management. Many insiders wish they had chevron or shells CEO right now. How the mighty have fallen.

The Exxon CEO is despised by employees because he does not communicate, has no vision beyond oil and has ran the company off the ramp since he took over. The board over there reflects pent up options that were brewing but no avenues to vent without repercussions. Those employees feel constantly threatened and stuck in a toxic culture. Change does not come easy over there.

There is a legitimate sh!tstorm brewing over there. They are in the extreme rage state that we were all in several months ago. Seems like they will have bigger cuts than us though.

I have a few friends who work at ExxonMobil's Spring, TX office. The EM culture was always "be a workaholic, or else face the threat of termination for underperformance". Now, for the first time in recent history, there is widespread concern in EM about layoffs in every business unit, support group, and corporate function.

It’s weird because there are a few former employees at Exxon that spent loads of time being toxic trolls internally on news boards and meetings. Hence the “former” comment. So now they are clearly spending their abundant free time trolling these external sites to grind their personal axes. The posts are so similar they look like the same 2-3 people are writing most of them. Ah... the internet.

Times are tough everywhere not just Oil and Gas. Only few companies are doing well relative to last year and even those might not be safe in the months ahead.

The reality is that we are in a different environment and we have to change to adjust, these changes are typically not exciting changes so makes most of us unhappy and sometime frustrated but it is beyond our control until this virus is out of significantly under control.

Those c—y SOBs are learning what it looks like in the real world. Let's also be honest, nobody wants to be a shell either.
