OLD SICK TIME

I had a 192 hours in sick time and 32 hours in personal time, that I lost. I retired 5 1/2 months ago, and I was told that I lose those hours, and there was nothing that I could do about it. So, the company just stole $4000.00 from me. That is the price you pay for trying to be a good employee. Which really s—s. I should try to sue them for that amount. This just isn't right!!!

Most long time associates know that the home office decision makers are all slimy crooks. their only interests are their personal gains. they have no morals, ethics, or cares for the people at store level.
if an associate is caught stealing, they're immediately terminated. the corporate suits and skirts steal personal & sick time from associates & there is no action taken. just some " we got'em again" pats on the back.

Long term employees know how this company operates. We see it time and time again. It's rather humorous to watch how home office, managers, assistants and team leads operate! I sometimes wonder if they all know how ridiculous they sound and look.

Thankful that my DOCTOR ordered COVID LOA was paid with my 192 legacy sick & most of my personal time, I was so upset thinking I would have lost 11 weeks of pay that I worked so hard to build, I have 3 diseases that I used personal time for coverage back in the day to preserve my192 sick for an emergency.......when they LOCKED it up I wanted to scream!!!!! God works in mysterious ways!!

Our managers let certain people know that this was coming. These few that knew cashed out before the new policy took effect. You can thank that previous CEO that screwed us all with the changes that she came up with.

California, Illinois, and North Dakota are the only states that, by law, they have to pay us out our Personal Time.

Unless you have a contractual agreement to be paid for sick time you won't be paid out for it. In California and some states you do have to be paid out for vacation and PTO. PTO and sick time are not the same.

yep, happened to me too. It's not right at all that they aren't paying out what was earned.

I also lost my 192 sick hours. They do pay you out for your personal time

What you should have done is taken a LOA just before you’re about to retire so you could at least have drained everything out. That’s what I’m gonna do. When my time is up, I’m using everything I have that they can’t right me a check for!!

Can Sam's be sued for this? Can you imagine how much money they stole from their most dedicated associates.

It happened to me also 192 hours sick time that I had for 10 years I used it one time took 40 hours out of it for an injury but got it back up to the 192 . Yeah when you quite everyone should be payed out on there sick time and when you have 192 max time that shows at least to me your reliable. I worked with people that had very little or none left that were long term employees . After all you did earn that sick time by showing up right.
