Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Anyone think GRS1 is a waste of headcount?

We recently implemented GRS1 in Baytown and it’s a clusterF.
No need to have that many SLS level staff in the organization.
There used to be 1 SLS and 1 or 2 DAY FLS and that worked just as fine.
Management preaches GRS1 makes us more reliable but in reality we ran more reliably when we didn’t run units into the ground by deferring work.

How can the company sustain this bloated organization structure?

I see many posts here are saying positions are being consolidated but seems like areas with the GRS1 structure are starting to bloat.

Baytown is just run like garbage imho, nepotism like crazy.
Incompetent advisors and second lines so-called anchors are prime examples of back scratching.

Yeah let’s create 5 new SLS (higher costs) and get rid of supposed all poor performers that cost less money... good job Baytown.... sure hope those high paid folks can do the work of the folks you pushed out with that bogus rank system....

The entire corporation, plants and offices, have become bloated over the past several years and that is one of the exact problems with EM. Too much management, advisors, architects... folks that add no real value to the company and do no real work. Meetings, workshops, and PPTs are not work but somehow this has become how you get ahead at EM. The company has truly lost its way and has its priorities all screwed up.

Sls = second line supervisor
Fls= first line supervisor
Grs = “global” reliability system aka boondoggle
